MARTHA HARLAN

Martha Harlan (they/them) is a director, choreographer and performer. Having trained as an actor at ArtsEd and as a choreographer at Siobhan Davies Studios, Martha works primarily with rhythm - whether that be of the temporal rhythm of dialogue, or the spatial rhythms of blocking and dance. Martha is a production assistant for Tribeca Award winning company Point A on site-responsive soundwalks around Manhattan (CURRENT), Athens (KORMOS) and Austin (ECLIPSING). Martha also directs all voice-over work for new app SleepWorlds.

Martha’s performance work asks questions about presence, exhaustion, and support. Their most recent work You and I are Here was described as ‘a quiet revolution...an illustration of how in these times we may share the load together’. (Francesca Matthys, for Dance Art Journal). Martha is represented as an actor by Dallas Smith at United Agents.

First and foremost though, Martha just wants to have a nice time.

LAURA HENDERSON CHILD

Laura Henderson Child (she/they) is a writer from Birmingham. She likes combining hyper-naturalistic dialogue with bold theatrical form. Her work is usually quite strange, sometimes quite camp, pretty much always a bit sad.

She trained at Ecole Jacques Lecoq in Paris.

Laura also writes on the Kardashian family and the literary methodology of celebrity. Their research was presented at the 2021 Kimposium, convened by Brunel University, and will be published by Routledge in Kardashians: A Critical Anthology later this year.

Laura is also learning BSL, and works for a Deaf-led charity in London.
